The Children’s Minister will provide leadership and vision for the spiritual formation of elementary-age children (Kindergarten through 5th Grade) and their families. This leader will build upon a strong ministry foundation while helping the church thoughtfully move forward, equipping volunteers, supporting parents as primary disciplers, and creating pathways for children to be Saved, Shepherded, Shaped, and Sent. Success in this role will be measured through trusted relationships, healthy ministry systems, volunteer development, and meaningful spiritual growth among children and families.

Demonstrates a proven ability to recruit, train, encourage, and empower volunteers. Builds healthy ministry teams that create sustainable and effective discipleship environments.


Builder of a Flourishing Children’s Ministry

Leads children and families through the church’s discipleship pathway of Saved, Shepherded, Shaped, and Sent. Creates engaging and biblically grounded environments that foster long-term spiritual growth.


Relational and Trusted Ministry Presence

Connects quickly with children, parents, volunteers, and staff. Creates a culture where families feel welcomed, valued, supported, and cared for.


POSITION OVERVIEW


The Children’s Minister will serve as a key member of the Formation Team and provide oversight for all elementary-age ministry environments, programs, and events. This role carries responsibility for developing ministry strategy, strengthening family discipleship, leading volunteer teams, and ensuring ministry environments reflect excellence, hospitality, safety, and theological alignment with the mission of the church.


RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead and oversee all Children’s Ministry environments, programs, and events for elementary-age children and their families.
  • Equip parents as primary disciplers through training, resources, and intentional family discipleship opportunities.
  • Recruit, train, schedule, and shepherd volunteer leaders across Children’s Ministry environments.
  • Supervise Children’s Ministry staff and cultivate a healthy, team-oriented ministry culture.
  • Evaluate and strengthen existing ministry programs while developing new opportunities for spiritual growth.
  • Oversee child safety systems, volunteer screening processes, and ministry procedures.
  • Manage curriculum, teaching resources, ministry supplies, and budget responsibilities.
  • Collaborate with church staff to align discipleship strategies across generations.
  • Foster ministry environments marked by warmth, hospitality, biblical teaching, and spiritual formation.
  • Provide pastoral leadership and prayerful care for children, families, volunteers, and staff.
