POSITION OVERVIEW

This new Associate Pastor role, which includes youth ministry, worship leadership, and general pastoral responsibilities, comes at a pivotal moment for Friesland Community Church. A strong foundation already exists in each of these areas, and this pastor will be called to build upon it. The church offers many established events to engage with, along with opportunities to create and grow new ministries.



The ideal candidate will be:

  • Clearly called to youth and family ministry
  • Capable of leading or supporting a blended worship environment (hymns and contemporary)
  • Has a heart for rural, small-town ministry and thrives in tight-knit communities
  • Theologically aligned with a conservative, reformed-leaning evangelical perspective and comfortable within the structures and beliefs of the Evangelical Free Church


 

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Serve full-time in partnership with the Lead Pastor to shepherd the church body.
  • Provide primary leadership in youth ministry, including:
  • Planning and leading programs that foster spiritual growth and outreach.
  • Mentoring students and integrating them into the larger church community.
  • Equipping and supporting adult leaders who serve in youth ministry.


  • If skilled in worship, provide secondary leadership in worship, including:
  • Overseeing and leading worship services.
  • Guiding and developing worship teams.
  • Assisting with service planning.
  • Preaching several times per year.
  • Managing technical aspects of worship (sound, livestream, and presentation software).


  • Contribute to church-wide support and administration, including:
  • Assisting with communications and marketing efforts.
  • Supporting event planning and coordination.
  • Carrying out administrative responsibilities as needed.
