Shepherd Staff is honored to work with Mendham Hills Community Church in Chester, New Jersey, as they search for their next Student Ministries Pastor. Mendham Hills is known to be a friendly, welcoming church with great kids and student ministries. They also have thriving support group ministries, such as DivorceCare, DC4K, GriefShare, and Trauma Reboot. Each has been a straightforward entry point for people in the local communities, leading them to engage in church life affiliated with the Christian Missionary Alliance.

The Student Ministries Pastor is responsible for the leadership, development, direction, and implementation of the vision, strategy, and tactical elements for all programs and activities related to student ministry (grades 6 through 12) at Mendham Hills Community Church.


The ideal candidate will be a:

  • Self-starter with an entrepreneurial spirit and an ability to build teams
  • Relational, approachable, and teachable
  • Strong communicator with a heart for those outside the church


QUALIFICATIONS

  • Love for Jesus and a desire to see lives and communities changed by the gospel
  • A strong and personal presence that reflects a love for students and passion for ministry to them and their families
  • A team player, comfortable working in a collaborative environment
  • A self-starter, able to work without constant direct supervision


RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Establish and maintain a philosophy and long-term strategy for the ministry in alignment with MHCC’s overall vision and goals.
  • Provide strategic leadership, vision, development, direction, management, and oversight for all aspects of student ministries, Junior High through Senior High. This includes but is not limited to Sunday School, weekly youth group meetings, small Bible studies, summer activities, retreats, and special events.
  • Recruit and build volunteer teams - set direction, organize, train, and shepherd.
