The ideal candidate will be:

  • A spiritually mature leader rooted in biblical truth, personal holiness, and pastoral integrity, with a clear calling to shepherd men and families.
  • A visionary leader with strategic expertise, capable of managing complex operations, building systems, and stewarding the mission with humility and foresight.

  • A relational fundraiser with a heart for stewardship, cultivating prayer-driven, trustworthy partnerships to support the mission and advance the Kingdom.

POSITION OVERVIEW

Spirit of Elijah Ministries (SOE), is seeking a Vice President of Ministry Development to lead the organization into its next season of growth and impact. He will work closely with the existing Founder/President in the first year or so, and gradually transition into the role of CEO. This leader will succeed the ministry’s Founder/President, not by stepping into his shoes, but by faithfully walking in their own—honoring the foundation laid, while courageously and prayerfully leading the organization into its next chapter.

The Vice President of Ministry Development will be a spirit-led strategist first, and a visionary pastor-builder next, leading with conviction in both his words and actions. His keen strategic foresight, combined with a deep understanding of biblical discipleship, will enable him to anticipate and navigate with clarity and purpose. With an ability to minister with influence and impact, he will equip and empower diverse audiences locally and globally. The role demands a leader who can balance the legacy of a tenured legacy leader with the need for future growth, while reassuring the ministry’s internal stakeholders and external partners of the organization’s local and global impact, while also strengthening its long term impact.

The Vice President of Ministry Development will have senior leadership experience at a church or nonprofit, with accompanying education, and proven competencies in the areas of strategic foresight, leadership coaching, systematic development, mission implementation, executive operations, donor/fund development, capacity building, and pastoral care.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Oversee the operations and program planning to fulfill ministry objectives.
  • Oversee, and fully assume responsibility over the following administrative areas following succession overlap: Procurement/Accounting/Administrative.
  • Steward the ministry’s assets, reputation & organization’s best interests.
  • Practice and promote the core values, ensuring an operation that will consistently and systematically deliver the brand promises (see addendum below).
  • Become familiar with Founder/President’s resources, to then summarize, explain, and provide event presentations on the content.
  • Understand and help shape the ministry's strategy and mission to improve outreach, network, and market reach.
  • Provide insight and support into the transition process and significant organizational changes.
  • Develop and implement a plan for building relationships with potential donors and maintaining and encouraging present donors.
  • Collaborate with the Founder/President in financial planning for the year.
  • Organize, coordinate, and promote online events with partner ministries.
  • Coordinate with Founder/President in the training of presenters.
  • Practice and promote confidentiality of information.
  • Support Founder/President when he speaks by overseeing logistical and administrative details.
  • Aid in transferring direct executive and pastoral responsibilities from the Founder/President to the role as VPMD, and eventually, CEO.
