Shepherd Staff is honored to be working with Grace Church in Viroqua, WI, as they search for their next Pastor of Discipleship. Grace Church is an EFCA church that exists to know Jesus, grow in Him, and make Him known. They are a community of believers passionate about worshiping God, building authentic relationships, and serving their community and the world with the love of Christ.



POSITION OVERVIEW

The Pastor of Discipleship will dedicate their time to strengthening discipleship. This involves developing processes for all ages, equipping parents as spiritual influencers, supporting ministry leaders, and training volunteers. They will also help members use their spiritual gifts and foster intergenerational relationships.


The pastor will also join the leadership team, serve alongside the elders and senior pastor, and contribute to the church's overall vision and ministry.


RESPONSIBILITIES


Discipleship

  • Identify and develop people/processes for effective discipleship of all ages per the
  • Implement Discipleship Strategy
  • Serve as a spiritual resource for parents on Biblical household application; equip parents as primary spiritual influencers
  • Support youth & family ministry leaders/volunteers in program administration, development, and volunteer recruitment
  • Encourage spiritual gift utilization and identify service opportunities within the body
  • Promote intergenerational ministries to reveal God’s work across generations 2


Preaching & Leadership

  • Preach up to 12 times/year (flexible, based on giftedness and development)
  • Serve as ex officio elder in mutual submission to the elder board
  • Collaborate with the senior pastor to shepherd the congregation
