Shepherd Staff is honored to be working with Eagle Heights Baptist Church in Harrison, Arkansas as they search for their next Lead Pastor. Eagle Heights is a warm, multigenerational church with strong lay leadership, committed ministry teams, and a genuine desire to move forward together after an extended pastoral transition. The church averages approximately 280–325 in total weekly attendance and is positioned for a healthy new season of unified leadership, discipleship, and community impact. 

Eagle Heights is searching for a Lead Pastor who will shepherd the congregation relationally, preach the Bible with clarity and application, develop people and leaders, and help align the church’s ministries around a shared mission and vision. After approximately four years without a full-time Senior Pastor, the church is ready for a leader who can build trust, bring greater collaboration across ministries, and lead thoughtful change while honoring the faithful work of staff, deacons, lay leaders, and the teaching team during the interim season.

The ideal candidate will be:

• A highly relational and approachable shepherd who genuinely loves people, is present during difficult seasons, and builds trust through personal ministry.
• A humble, collaborative leader who invites participation, works well with deacons, staff, and lay leaders, and leads without becoming controlling or isolated.
• A gospel-grounded biblical preacher who communicates with clarity, energy, relevance, and practical application while calling people toward salvation and spiritual growth.
• A discipler and developer of people who can equip the congregation, mentor ministry and teaching leaders, and strengthen the church’s leadership pipeline.
• An experienced multigenerational ministry leader who can care well for senior adults while effectively reaching younger adults, families, children, and students.

POSITION OVERVIEW

The next Lead Pastor will lead Eagle Heights into a season of renewed alignment and forward momentum. The church has demonstrated significant resilience through a facility fire, rebuilding, COVID-era disruption, leadership transitions, and an extended pastoral vacancy. Throughout that time, committed deacons, staff, ministry leaders, and volunteers have continued serving faithfully, and the church has maintained strong ministries to children, students, adults, and senior adults.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Preach and teach Scripture with biblical faithfulness, clarity, relevance, and practical application.
• Shepherd the congregation through relational ministry, pastoral care, presence, and personal connection.
• Provide spiritual and organizational leadership that brings ministries together around shared mission, vision, and priorities.
• Develop, mentor, and equip staff, ministry leaders, teachers, and volunteers for effective ministry.
• Partner collaboratively with deacons, the Pastoral Council, staff, and lay leaders in leading the church.
• Strengthen discipleship and evangelism while maintaining a healthy balance of outreach, pastoral care, and spiritual formation.
• Lead effectively across generations, honoring long-tenured members while strengthening ministry to younger adults, families, children, and students.
• Guide needed change thoughtfully and relationally, demonstrating humility, resilience, transparency, and appropriate leadership strength.
• Help strengthen Eagle Heights’ outward focus and community presence, including local missions and evangelistic engagement.
• Cultivate future leaders and help position the church for long-term ministry growth, missions involvement, and multiplication.
