Shepherd Staff is honored to be working with Abundant Harvest Community Church in Brownfield, TX as they search for their next Lead Pastor. Abundant Harvest Community Church is a warm, prayer-centered congregation made up largely of working-class families, farmers, and first-generation Christians from a variety of church backgrounds. Meeting in a debt-free facility, the church is known for its genuine hospitality, strong sense of community, and commitment to welcoming people from all walks of life.
The congregation is eager for a pastor who can inspire greater engagement, develop new leaders, and help mobilize the church for both discipleship and outreach.
The Lead Pastor will serve as the primary spiritual and biblical leader of the church. The Lead Pastor is responsible for preaching and teaching the Word of God, leading the congregation in spiritual growth, equipping believers to become disciples of Jesus Christ, and helping fulfill the mission of expanding the Kingdom of Heaven.
The ideal candidate will be:
Demonstrates the ability to shepherd and unify believers from diverse denominational backgrounds by focusing on the essential truths of the Christian faith while showing grace and respect toward differing convictions on secondary matters. The successful candidate will prioritize caring for people over winning theological debates, fostering a church culture that values biblical truth, Christian unity, and spiritual maturity.
Demonstrates a biblical dependence on the Holy Spirit in personal life, leadership, and ministry, while maintaining a commitment to sound doctrine and the authority of Scripture. The successful candidate will be comfortable leading in a church that is open to the Holy Spirit’s work, spiritual gifts, prayer, and spiritual warfare, exercising discernment and ensuring that Christ and the gospel remain central in all aspects of ministry.
Demonstrates the ability to inspire and mobilize people by clearly communicating the biblical purpose behind ministry, outreach, and missions before developing programs or processes. The successful candidate will be a relational motivator who can engage all generations, cultivate broad participation in the life of the church, and lead people from inspiration to equipping to active ministry and community impact.
Demonstrates a track record of moving people from spectators to participants by inspiring involvement, developing emerging leaders, and building healthy volunteer teams. The successful candidate will be skilled at broadening ministry ownership across the congregation, reducing dependence on a small core of volunteers, and creating pathways for people to grow in service, leadership, and discipleship.
