Shepherd Staff is honored to be working with Boydton Methodist Church in Boydton, VA as they search for their next Senior Pastor. Boydton Methodist Church is a family of Christians whose mission is to spread the wonderful news of Jesus Christ. They come together in Christian fellowship to worship and serve God the Father, His Son, and the Holy Spirit as they love the Lord and work together in fellowship in their community to share the Good News of salvation through faith in Christ. They go about this with words of love and through their acts of service.

POSITION OVERVIEW

The senior pastor will provide pastoral leadership along with inspiring and practical messages to minister to and equip the congregation, deepen their faith, and carry out the work of the church. They will be active in the lives and events within the church and the community with the goal of living out the mission and vision of the church.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Will carry the primary preaching responsibilities
• Shepherd, disciple, and equip the leaders and congregation for the work of the church
• Provide pastoral care, visiting, and counseling
• Perform the weddings, funerals, and other related sacraments
• Collaborate with the lay leadership to develop and execute vision and strategies to reach the community families
• Be visible and active in the community
