Shepherd Staff is honored to be working with Cityview Bible Church in Round Rock, TX as they search for their next Senior Director of Finance and Operations. This key leadership role provides overall leadership and direction to the team responsible for financial management, human resources, facilities management, information technology, church database management, and communications at Cityview Bible Church. This position requires a skilled executive leader with a servant’s heart who is organized, spiritually mature, and highly relational. 



The ideal candidate will have:

  • 5+ years of financial management experience at a church/business with a $3.5+ million budget.
  • Accounting experience and in-depth knowledge of Quickbooks Online are preferred.
  • 5+ years experience managing, coaching, and evaluating employees.
  • Senior Leadership Team and Human Resources experience is preferred.
  • Proven ability to connect relationally with a diverse staff and group of volunteers.
  • Willingness to be a team player and provide meaningful contributions.


RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Executive Team: Collaborate with other members of the Executive Team to develop policies and procedures that empower the church staff to accomplish the Cityview mission and vision; attend elder meetings, as requested, to support the elders in giving spiritual and strategic direction to the church; coordinate with the Executive Pastor on the annual ministry planning process.

  • Managerial and Spiritual Leadership: Ensure that a collaborative plan is in place to support the discipleship ministries of the church with excellent financial, facility, IT, database, and communications support; conduct weekly 1-on-1 meetings with direct reports to provide coaching, mentoring, and spiritual encouragement; conduct annual performance evaluations of all direct reports; ensure that your staff is focused on living out the Cityview Staff Core Values.


  • Financial Management: Ensure that Cityview finances are managed with excellence, integrity, transparency, and in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles; manage all financial processes including bookkeeping, offering processing, accounts receivable, accounts payable, credit card management, financial reporting, budgeting, and cash management.

  • Human Resources: Ensure that human resources policies and procedures that meet all legal requirements are in place, documented, and communicated to Cityview employees; ensure that a documented hiring process is in place and followed; ensure that HR files for Cityview employees are maintained and meet all legal requirements.

  • Facilities: Manage the Facilities Director to ensure that Cityview facilities are safe, well-maintained, and attractive; ensure that appropriate levels of insurance coverage are in place for Cityview facilities; ensure that a trained safety team is in place to address physical threats to Cityview’s people and/or facilities.

  • Information Technology/Church Database: Manage the IT/ChMS Coordinator to ensure that IT resources are procured, implemented, and maintained to support the staff and volunteer needs for computer technology and software to accomplish ministry objectives.

  • Communications: Manage the Director of Communications to ensure that a communications plan is developed in coordination with ministry staff to effectively communicate with the Cityview church family and the larger community; ensure that the Cityview website is well-maintained and stays updated with current information and content.
