Shepherd Staff is honored to be working with Harmony Hill Baptist Church in Lufkin, TX as they search for their next Children’s Pastor. Harmony Hill is a Southern Baptist church with a long standing tradition of ministry in the Lufkin community. They have a healthy mix of ministries and missions for all ages.

The Children’s Pastor has the responsibility of ministering to children and their families, volunteers, and staff through the implementation of ministry strategy that moves children to behold the wonders of God by building a foundation for them to know Jesus, grow in His likeness, and obey His word.

The ideal candidate will be:

• Collaborate well with the leaders and staff
• Strong pastoral skills and can work with parents, volunteers, staff, and children
• Can identify and carry out the different levels of expected discipleship for each age group
• Team focus and leadership skills that grow the team as well as the ministry
• Be a humble servant leader

POSITION OVERVIEW

Harmony Hill has a large group of children and families that attend on a regular basis. This new leader will walk into a strong ministry with a newly constructed, 30,000 sq. ft. children’s building. This leader will work closely with all the volunteers and continue to build on the family discipleship model of the church. There is a continual need to raise up and equip new leaders along with continuous leadership development of current leaders.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Cast the vision for a vibrant Children’s Ministry (ages birth through fifth grade) that will partner with parents to allow children to know Jesus, grow in His likeness, and obey His word.
• Develop a strategy for equipping parents to disciple their children at home
• Develop and shepherd a leadership team of staff and volunteers, equipping them to disciple children by providing resources and training and implementing continuous team-building strategies.
