Apply for this job

Shepherd Staff is honored to be working with Community Bible Church (CBC) in Savannah, Georgia, as they search for their next Worship Pastor. Community Bible Church is a thriving, Word-centered congregation known for its expository teaching, authentic community, and heartfelt worship. Located just minutes from historic downtown Savannah, CBC is a growing church that loves God’s Word, values deep discipleship, and desires worship that engages both the heart and the mind.

The Worship Pastor will lead and shepherd the church in worship that is biblically grounded, Christ-centered, and theologically rich. This role will partner closely with the Lead Pastor and pastoral team to plan and lead services where worship flows from the preached Word. The ideal candidate will be a pastor first and a musician second—someone who loves people, leads with humility, and develops volunteers to serve with excellence and authenticity.

The ideal candidate will be:

  • Demonstrate a growing walk with Christ and alignment with CBC’s Reformed, gospel-centered theology.
  • Be a skilled musician (vocal and instrumental—guitar and/or keys preferred) with strong leadership and team-building ability.
  • Shepherd and disciple worship team members with relational warmth and care.
  • Partner with the Lead Pastor and Executive Pastor to plan, prepare, and lead biblically faithful, gospel-driven services.
  • Build systems and rhythms that ensure preparation, communication, and musical excellence.
  • Recruit, train, and mentor the next generation of worship and production leaders, especially from CBC’s thriving college and student ministries.
  • Model humility, spiritual maturity, and a love for God’s Word in both public leadership and private life.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and oversee all worship environments, including Sunday services, college gatherings, and special events.
  • Coordinate service elements to ensure that music, liturgy, and media support the teaching text and church mission.
  • Recruit, train, and schedule volunteer musicians, vocalists, and production team members.
  • Collaborate with pastoral staff in disciple-making, counseling, and congregational care.
  • Officiate weddings and funerals as assigned and participate in membership and baptism meetings.
  • Maintain worship-related administrative and licensing requirements (e.g., CCLI, streaming).
  • Participate actively in church life—growing in community and exemplifying authentic, Christlike leadership.
