
Shepherd Staff is honored to be working with First Baptist Church West Plains in West Plains, MO as they search for their next Senior Pastor. FBC West Plains is in their 141st year of ministry in their community and is a place where people can meet Jesus, engage in a life-giving community, and everyone is welcome. They believe in creating a space where people can have authentic encounters with Christ, discover their gifts and use them for God's glory. POSITION OVERVIEW
The Senior Pastor is to be the spiritual leader of the church and shepherd the body of believers known as FBC West Plains. He is responsible to the Lord and the church to primarily proclaim the Gospel and teach the Bible. He is to lead the church family to function as a New Testament Church. He will lead himself, his family, and the church well by modeling the attributes and characteristics of Jesus.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Plan and conduct worship services; prepare and deliver sermons and lead in observance of the church ordinances.
- Lead the church in an effective program of outreach to prospects, members, hospitalized, and bereaved.
- Provide compassionate care to the church members by conducting counseling as needed; premarital, marriage, family, relational, emotional, spiritual, and financial.
- Participate in mission trips and revivals as needed.
- Articulate vision, goals, and strategies, using a team approach, for FBC WP to put in place to develop a loving and secure environment that permeates our church.
- To lead by shepherding, educating, team building, evaluating our ministries and opportunities, and orchestrating a strategic goal setting process throughout, while working within the budget set forth by the church.
- Cooperate with the local Baptist Association, State Convention, and Southern Baptist Convention leadership in matters of mutual interest and concern.
- Make every effort to maintain strong, healthy connections and partnership with other local churches to reach our community for Christ.
