Shepherd Staff is partnering with Mountaintop Church in Birmingham, AL, to find their next Associate Worship Pastor. Mountaintop is a vibrant, non-denominational church focused on helping people follow Jesus through authentic relationships, spiritual growth, and community outreach. Known for its welcoming atmosphere, strong worship and teaching, and emphasis on small groups, the church fosters a collaborative, innovative, and purpose-driven staff culture.


Mountaintop Church is seeking a passionate and gifted Associate Worship Pastor to help lead Christ-centered, engaging worship experiences. Working closely with the Worship Pastor, this role involves planning and leading worship across Sunday services, student and college ministries, and special events. The ideal candidate is musically skilled, spiritually mature, tech-savvy, and relationally gifted—able to build strong volunteer teams and foster a culture of excellence, hospitality, and growth both on and off the stage.

POSITION OVERVIEW

This candidate will be a mission-minded Worship Pastor who is creative, collaborative, and aligned with the church’s outward-focused vision. This leader will design worship that reaches the unchurched and builds believers, blending traditional and creative elements—including secular music when fitting. The ideal candidate brings humility, theological depth, cultural awareness, and a passion for developing teams and volunteers.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Help plan and lead Sunday worship services
  • Provide both on-stage and behind-the-scenes leadership
  • Use tools like Ableton and vocal tracks to prepare teams
  • Care for volunteers and manage green room hospitality
  • Assist with stage design and production setup/teardown
  • Support student ministry worship as needed
  • Develop and disciple young worship leaders
  • Lead college worship services and teams
  • Recruit, train, and mentor college worship volunteers
  • Provide tech or worship support for special events
  • Adapt to roles like A/V, stage management, or musical support
