The Shepherd’s Staff is honored to be working with Current - A Christian Church in Katy, Texas as they search for their next Worship Minister. Current - A Christian Church is a growing church in a thriving suburb of America’s third-largest city, Houston, Texas. 


Current is blessed with a diverse community and is experiencing growth, especially with young families with children who are quickly making their way to student ministry. God has been at work, shaping and molding our congregation over the last 2 years through some challenges. As a result, we have become a more real, authentic, and sincere group of Jesus followers. This role comes at a critical time in the church’s story and is vital in answering the question, “What next big thing does God have planned for Current Students?”


POSITION OVERVIEW

We are looking for someone both creative in vision and skilled in execution. A high-capacity person that plans and prepares well. Highly skilled instrumentally and vocally. This person works well in a team environment, as they will work closely/under/with the Lead Worship Minister, and will also work closely with our Production Director and Communications Director.


The ideal candidate will be:

  • Preferably 2-5 years of experience in a comparable position/environment or larger, but not required.
  • Degree or certification(s) in relative fields appreciated but not required.
  • Proficient in:
  • Ableton/Playback
  • Pro Presenter 7
  • Musical Chart arrangement and production
  • Familiarity with SD-9 and Klang systems beneficial
  • Live Audio production
  • Instrument proficiency (acoustic guitar, electric guitar, keys)
  • Full band setup and management (vocalists, drums, bass, electric, acoustic, keys, tracks, clicks.)


RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Planning services along with Lead Worship Minister and Lead Pastor
  • Lead and develop volunteer teams: vocalists and musicians for our weekly services, as well as developing the student ministry worship team.
  • Research and development of new technology systems or products as needed.
  • Research and implementation of new worship songs throughout the year.
  • Manage equipment and production needs for large special events as needed.
  • Serve as tech or service support in areas as needed when not leading from stage
