Shepherd Staff is honored to be working with Beck’s Reformed Church in Lexington, NC as they search for their next Associate Pastor for NextGen Family Ministry. Beck’s is a church with a storied history that is well known to the community. While they have a long history, they celebrate and honor that and at the same time, look forward to the future. The culture of Beck’s is one that is very welcoming and views themselves as a family. Young and old, they desire to grow spiritually and numerically. They greatly desire to reach out into the community to reach young families. 


POSITION OVERVIEW

The purpose of this new role is to develop, lead, and expand opportunities for spiritual growth among students, young adults, and families.


The ideal candidate will be:

  • Deep commitment to Nextgen (students and families) and their spiritual growth.
  • Intentional about reaching out to the community through events, extracurriculars, and engagement with students and kids.
  • Ability to relate to and engage with the diverse demographics at Beck’s Reformed Church and their community.
  • A pastor who fosters unity, motivates others, and bridges gaps between groups.
  • Willingness to learn, demonstrate humility, and lead by example to inspire and encourage others.
  • Able to see the bigger picture, plan strategically, and take risks, even learning from mistakes.
  • Skilled in recruiting, equipping, and delegating responsibilities to leaders in ministry.
  • Consistent, with the ability to remain persistent and patient through challenges and long-term goals.


RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide leadership for the Christian growth of individuals, students, young adults, families, staff, and the community
  • Strengthen and lead the recruitment, training, and support of volunteers for NextGen ministry
  • Direct the development and implementation of a vision for NextGen ministry
  • Collaborate with other churches, schools, and community organizations to work together in proclaiming the gospel
  • Plan events and communicate regularly with students, young adults, and families regarding upcoming events and ministry opportunities
  • Organize and oversee all aspects of off-site student events, ensuring safety, coordination, and a spiritually enriching experience
