Shepherd Staff is honored to be working with Trinity Baptist Church in Lake Charles, LA as they search for their next Minister to Children and Families. Trinity Baptist Church is a large, established congregation that is deeply committed to children's ministry and discipleship. They are deeply committed to spreading the Gospel of Jesus Christ through both local and global missions. The church has planted seventy-two churches in Africa and established five within the Lake Area.
This full-time role is dedicated to nurturing the spiritual growth of children from birth through fifth grade, with a heart for discipleship, evangelism, and pastoral care. The Minister to Children and Families will lead a caring and committed team—including a ministry assistant, children’s coordinator, Sunday worship team, and preschool director—to create a Christ-centered environment where kids can grow in their faith. Responsibilities include guiding children through meaningful teaching and mentorship, leading outreach efforts and milestone celebrations, and walking alongside parents as they disciple their children at home. This role also provides vital support to children, families, and volunteers.

Trinity is looking for someone with a strong and growing Christian faith, a deep passion for family-oriented discipleship, and demonstrated leadership and communication skills. Preferred qualifications include over five years of experience in children’s ministry and seminary education. The position requires someone capable of creating a nurturing, Christ-centered community while strategically planning ministry programs and collaborating with other church ministries, particularly the Student Ministry. This minister plays a vital role in integrating children and their families into the life of the church and encouraging lifelong spiritual growth.
