Shepherd Staff is honored to be working with Graceway Church in Kansas City, MO as they search for their next Young Adults Pastor. Graceway is multi-ethnic, multi-cultural, and multi-generational Church. They are deeply committed to biblical preaching, personal discipleship, and international missions. 


The Young Adults Pastor will shepherd Graceway’s Young Adults (ages 19–25) into biblical adulthood—helping them grow in a personal relationship with Jesus, build meaningful friendships, discover purpose, and find places to serve and make a difference. In addition, this role includes oversight of Graceway’s Residency Program, recruiting and developing residents through hands-on ministry experience, spiritual formation, and leadership development.


The ideal candidate will be:

  • A dynamic, extroverted leader who connects naturally with 18–30-year-olds and can teach/preach effectively
  • A self-starter/builder who’s excited to relaunch and rebuild a ministry from a “blank canvas.”
  • Someone who can guide the residency program—implementing an existing strategy/curriculum for the residency side and developing leaders well



POSITION OVERVIEW

This is a unique opportunity for the right leader: Graceway is looking for someone who will personally shepherd young adults, create clear on-ramps into community and spiritual formation, and build a ministry that helps young adults become meaningful contributors to the life of the church.

Alongside Young Adults, you’ll also provide leadership to Graceway’s Residency Program—helping recruit, mentor, and develop emerging leaders for vocational ministry, while partnering with the broader staff team around focused training tracks.


 

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Pastor and shepherd young adults, especially key transitions (high school → young adult, young adult → adulthood)
  • Serve as the hub leader for Young Adults small groups
  • Build and lead a Dream Team made up of young adults
  • Launch small groups / Bible studies on local college campuses
  • Lead the Residency Program by recruiting, developing, and mentoring ministry residents
